Phab supports children, young people and adults with and without disabilities through 147 Phab Clubs across England and Wales with 8,000 members, our Inclusive Living Experience (ILX) Residential Projects Programme and wheelchair accessible holiday homes.

Once again this year the Hospital Saturday Fund generously supported our ILX Projects, held at fully accessible outdoor activity centres in the Lake District and New Forest, helping us to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of 142 children and young adults aged 2 to 25. Most of those involved had physical, sensory or learning disabilities, some with complex medical needs, and a small number were not disabled but disadvantaged in some way or the sibling of a disabled child attending.

The activities the children and young adults enjoyed together, whatever their ability, included canoeing, caving, rock climbing, abseiling, cycling, zip wire, with a visit to the seaside or farm, and a party with presentation of certificates to celebrate their achievements.

With the support of 119 Phab volunteers and dedicated carers, and of course the Hospital Saturday Fund, they were all able to spread their wings, make new friends and build their personal and practical skills, confidence, independence and self-belief. Thank you, HSF!
