Ambitious about Autism visit

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for children and young people with autism, providing services, raising awareness and campaigning for change. Their vision is to make the “ordinary possible” for children and young people with autism, through the mission of helping them “learn, thrive and achieve”.

Education, in particular, is at the core of what the charity does, where they feel it is critical towards allowing the children to “learn, thrive, achieve and live fulfilling lives as adults”. Adopting this mantra has led to the establishment of The Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust, under which two day schools for children ages 3-19 exist; the Treehouse School and The Rise School, as well as Ambitious College, which caters for young people aged 16-25. All 3 of these schools cater specifically to children and young people with autism and learning disabilities in London.

Last month, our HR Manager, Shelley Whittington, visited The Rise School in Feltham. HSF will be supporting the creation of The Rise School Sixth Form (RSSF) to be established within the campus of West Thames College, which will allow year 11 students to transition to the sixth form. This facility will have the capacity to cater for 32 pupils in years 12 and 13, across a range of academic abilities and qualifications.
