Focus Birmingham – December 2018

John Randel with Gaynor Whitehouse

On 17th December 2018, John Randel was delighted to present a cheque for £10,000 to the Clinical Manager of Focus Birmingham, Gaynor Whitehouse.

About Focus Birmingham

Over 29,000 people in Birmingham live with sight loss, which has devastating consequences. It prevents people from driving and working; it may restrict social interaction, cause isolation, and remove a person’s independence, it can lead to low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence or depression.

Focus Birmingham is a specialist charity providing expert support, advice and information to anyone in the Birmingham area affected by sight loss or other disabilities as well as enabling them to lead independent and fulfilling lives in an inclusive society.

The grant of £10,000 will go towards their funding appeal to purchase an Optical Coherence Tomography. This will enable them to complete retina and optic nerve assessments.
